Long before this, the city stood as the trade center on caravan routes from West Asia and Africa. Bikaner's dominant attributes are abundant sunshine and rippling sands. Bikaner stands on an elevation, confined by 7 Kms wall, with entrance from 5 gates. Bikaner City is bolstered up by enforcing walls and holds a 16th century fort that housed temples, old palaces, and mosque. Founded by Raja Rai Singh, the fort is differentiated by its long 37 pavilions range, a line of balconies and aerial windows of different designs. Also, visit the Lallgarh Palace, Bhanda Sagar Jain, the museum, and Deshnoke Rat temple. Overnight stay in Bikaner.
